Un disque avec Helena Noguerra par-ci, deux albums avec French Cowboy par-là...On n'arrête plus Federico Pellegrini depuis trois ans. Et ceux qui pensaient que 2009 serait l'année de la sieste pour le Français en seront pour leur frais en apprenant la parution d'"Isn't My Bedroom", un nouvel EP pour French Cowboy. Ce EP mixé par Jim Waters, et comprenant une collaboration avec les Golden Boots (sur Havalina Records), est un avant-goût d’un nouvel album, dont la sortie est prévue en 2010. Trois ans après "Rouge Sang", le chanteur populaire Renaud fait son grand retour avec treize adaptations de classiques irlandais adaptés en français, treize chansons qui parlent de fusils, de chômage, d’exil, d’amour et de colère. Renaud avait déjà montré son affection pour l'Irlande à travers un single sorti en 1991 et baptisé "La Ballade Nord-Irlandaise". Il aura fallu deux ans de travail pour que le chanteur parvienne à adapter ces classiques irlandais revus à sa manière. Un disque à son image, chaleureux et insoumis ! Future Equation Of Soul
Vintage
After vibrating organs and guitar foreplay arrives an explosion of soul. I am talking dark basement lounge music where cigarette air fills the room and musicians sing from old-styled microphones. The drummer taps away in the background like ?uestlove and I imagine the bass player chewing liquorice as he leads the melody. Check out Future Soul of Equation and their seductive song, “Vintage.” (DR)

For anyone into Interpol (the first album) or Sebadoh (the discordant rock bits, not the soppy ballads) try this band, from Switzerland. Although mostly instrumental, this track has a great vocal and sounds not totally unlike The Pixies. They’ve recently been collaborating with a girl group from Italy - which is maybe where the horses heads come in…(NM)
